Automatic Calculation of Water-Equivalent Diameter

Automated calculation of water-equivalent diameter (WED) based on AAPM Task Group 220 report.

Using this tool, users can upload a single DICOM image or several DICOM images (compressed DICOM images or DICOM stack/multiframes are not supported) in order to calculate/select the WED to be used for dosimetric calculations.

The MEDIRAD Project aims to enhance the scientific bases and clinical practice of radiation protection in the medical field and thereby addresses the need to better understand and evaluate the health effects of low-dose ionising radiation exposure from diagnostic and therapeutic imaging.
